The Sydney Exhibition Centre is adjacent to Tumbalong Park at Darling Harbour. Along with the nearby Sydney Convention Centre, the Sydney Exhibition Centre was officially opened in 1988. It was extended for the 2000 Summer Olympics and contains five exhibition halls. Although they have only been around for 25 years, both will close in December 2013 for a major redevelopment of the site.

Were the five exhibition halls not used since the Games?
ReplyDeleteYes, they are constantly in use. It's where they hold events like the car, boat, home shows etc. I went to a photography expo there recently. They say that it's just not big enough for Sydney now and they want to build a bigger facility to host more events.
