This historic post box is located along George Street at The Rocks, opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art. There aren't many of this syle of post box still around in Sydney.
I found some information that suggests that they were introduced around World War 1 but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I haven't seen any others of this type around Sydney in a very long time but a lot of the pillar boxes remain and some are still in use.
Does look quite old. Do you know how old?
