Does look quite old. Do you know how old?
Nod... I would also like to know when it was designed and where it has been for the last 80 or 100 years. Are there any others that survived?
I found some information that suggests that they were introduced around World War 1 but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I haven't seen any others of this type around Sydney in a very long time but a lot of the pillar boxes remain and some are still in use.
Hey it looks like one of ours and the same colour
Red and vintage is always a great eye catch ~ neat photo ~
It does indeed look like an old one and what a great capture indeed!! Have a great week, Jim!
nice looking mail box. is this still in use.
Yes, it certainly is.
these old letterboxes are cool. I hope the fires and smoke aren't affecting you Jim. So awful for those communities and people.
So interesting and different. I would hope they would leave it as symbol of what was.
It would be hard to miss that post box Jim.
