"Touchstones" is a giant marble sculpture created by Ken Yasuda in 2000. It is located in the forecourt of the Aurora Place office and residential buildings bounded by Phillip Street, Bent Street and Macquarie Street.
Cool sculpture! ☺ Sidney is on my travel bucket list; hopefully one day! Looking at your temperature listing REALLY makes me want to visit. We have the same digits, but with a minus sign in front. Cheers!
Did you touch them?
ReplyDeleteYes, Stefan. They're very smooth.
DeleteVery unusual. It's one of those sculptures where you go "What?".
ReplyDeleteI'd like to get in the brain of the sculptor. Since I like the fun of marbles- made some from clay, whatever the why, I like this.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteThis certainly looks big. And no doubt many people photograph it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I always love to see what other kinds of public art is out there world wide.
ReplyDeleteLove these, Jim - it'ts nice to see something you can touch in this world of "DON'T do this or that".
ReplyDeleteThere's something solid and soothing about giant sculpture. These touchstones are a good example of that.
ReplyDeleteThose are stunning - a true piece of art.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday.
