Milperra, Georges River

This navigation mark in the middle of the Georges River is viewed from Deepwater Park, in the southwestern suburb of Milperra.

  1. No reason, but I have always had a fear of water. This looks too deep and dangerous for me.

  2. What is the pole. A measuring instrument for the water depth ? It even has a red light on top to warn boats coming up?

    1. s.c, yes it's a navigation mark. The stripes on pole indicate depth and the red light on top helps boats navigate at night or bad weather. I'll add it to the post.

  5. never seen that before! I have seen markers on the side to mark the deepth, but not a navigational marker. Have a great week!
