Customs House, Lunar New Year, paifang

This paifang, also known as a pailou, is a traditional style of Chinese architectural arch or gateway structure. It has been installed in Customs Square, in front of Customs House, to celebrate the Sydney Lunar New Year Festival.

  1. Reminds me of the gateway to the Chinese community in Washington, D.C.

  2. It seems to blend well with the building behind it. Nicely done.

Thanks for being a part of 'My Corner of the World' this week!

  3. Reminds me of Chinatown in my corner of the world. Lovely shot.
