Lunar Lanterns have been installed around Circular Quay to celebrate the Sydney Lunar New Year Festival. In the Chinese zodiac, every year is symbolised by an animal and this year is the Year of the Rat. This Rat lantern has been installed in First Fleet Park with the Sydney Opera House in the background. The Zodiac symbol of the Rat can be characterised as intelligent, adaptable and social. The quick-witted Rat cannot let an opportunity to prosper pass them by.

ReplyDeleteEvery culture has its own symbols.. but I find rats slithery little creatures. Then I suppose mice were too, until Mickey Mouse made them popular.
