Tempe railway station was built in 1884 and is located in the inner west suburb of Tempe. This station was once a junction of the Illawarra and East Hills railway lines but is now only served by Sydney Trains T4 Illawarra line. The trains departing on platform 1 head north to the city but this Tangara or T set train is heading south towards Wolli Creek.
It looks small and cozy
ReplyDeleteWhy was it built so small? Is Tempe not a big inner suburb?
ReplyDeleteThere are four platforms at Tempe but this is a relatively small suburb with small houses compared to the neighbouring station with high rise apartments.
Delete...thanks.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize there was another city named Tempe in the world. Tempe is a suburb of Phoenix also. It's a city that I lived in many years ago and is the home to Arizona State University.
ReplyDeleteBoth named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece.
DeleteWhat a cool place to wait for a train.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Looks like a nice tidy colonial station.
