Walsh Bay, flats

These flats which were converted from old warehouses on the Walsh Bay wharves have a marina out the front. Bathed in the golden glow of sunset, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is peeking from behind.

  1. Nice scale. Pity the nearby Barangaroo won't be similar.

  7. Nice recycling of the old warehouses, even if the result is that the exterior looks a bit like the Stacked Ice Cube Tray School of Architecture.

  9. Julie, I think people think it's trendier to call them apartments these days but I still like the term flats.

  11. Boats on one side and THE Bridge on the other side - what a view!

  12. No doubt costs a bit to live there with that view - and they have nice picture windows - but.... well, they probably look better than a crumbling warehouse...

  15. Springman, I live on the same side of the harbour as my work place in the city, so don't need to travel by boat. Many Sydneysiders who live near Sydney Harbour or along Parramatta River, travel to work by ferry.

  16. some one should tell your city fathers to get rid of the ugly apartment blocks. They are blocking the beautiful harbour Bridge.

    How's your weather?

Today we have 28 degrees and is too hot for us.

  17. Ann, these were old warehouses on wharves that have found a new life as flats, theatres, offices and restaurants. Most people like the transformation. We had an unseasonally cool day today with rain and 21 degrees. Last week was hot for us.
