Coast Guard by Greg James, Australia |
Sculpture by the Sea is an annual exhibition which is located on the coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama. This sculpture was located on the top of the scenic cliff at Bondi, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The walkway leading up to Marks Park at Tamarama can be seen in the background crowded with walkers, along with some of the other artworks I have featured in past posts.
that sculpture is magnificent!! and the surrounding area is lovely
ReplyDeleteAll the sculpture has the signature of a strong presence in the world!
ReplyDeleteHoly buckets!! You have really shown some awesome, fun, amazing sculptures this week! I just wish I could magically spread them around in MY city!
ReplyDeleteMy title would have been a bit different.
ReplyDeleteBut it's a cool sculpture.
Another captivating sculpture, nicely captured. I love all the public art. You could fill your blog only with public art in Sydney, couldn't you?
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to look at this screen, your world;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what Steffe is thinking, but I'd like to see a full frontal on this sculpture... from this angle it looks to me like he's ready to take a leak into the sea... (no offense intended). Scrolled down to the earlier post in this series and saw a week's worth of interesting sculptures. I particularly like the camel looking out to sea with its title Adaptable Migrant (may have either something to do with who I am or what I do).
ReplyDeleteFunny practical joke, but I wonder how people can take seriously this kind of works. Have they ever seen a real sculpture?
ReplyDeleteMolto interessante questa scultura che sembra osservare veramente il mare !
ReplyDeleteBuona giornata :)

Sensational! And well captured too.Sunshine Coast Daily Photo - Australia
ReplyDeleteJack, we do have some great permanent and temporary public art in Sydney. I'm trying to show as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteVP, I suppose some people don't think much of modern sculptures, some don't understand them and others adore them.
Francisca, the sun was right behind this sculpture, so it was difficult to get a good full frontal shot of this one. You can see one if you take the Virtual Tour on the exhibition's website.
That's nice! I like the curves of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a breathtaking coast to guard!
ReplyDeleteLovely scenery and the sculpture is an added bonus to this excellent shot.
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying your sculptures by the sea series. Wonderful sculpture and the scenery is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed how many people are cliff top walking. Are they mostly there to see the art?
ReplyDeleteAndrew, yes, most of them were there for the art. The coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee is always popular but the exhibition draws a massive crowd every year.
ReplyDeleteLike there wasn´t enough people doing that anyway.
ReplyDeleteI like the fiorst one, looks man made and at the same time, natural.
ReplyDeleteAre these sculpture permanent?
verry interesting post...thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAnn, no these sculptures were only on display for about three weeks. It's an annual exhibition, so there are different ones every year.
