Sculpture by the Sea is an outdoor sculpture exhibition that ran from 28th October to 14th November 2010. It is located on the two kilometre coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama. These sculptures at Marks Park in Tamarama, have North Bondi and the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop.
Its good to see these. I didn't get there this year, unfortunately. Was thinking of going yesterday but would have been far too crowded.
ReplyDeleteLike the camel - is it metal?
Yes, Ann, it was made from metal and inside was an old Singer sewing machine. You should check out the Virtual Tour that they have on the website. It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe camel is stunning and how fabulous to have this seaside display. Wouldn't it be great to be able to hold onto one or two of those permanently!
ReplyDeleteNice photos and enjoyed the tour!

ReplyDeleteThese are most creative and interesting. Sydney seems to have the most incredible vibe these days!
ReplyDeleteThey're all great - but that camel is sensational! What happens to the sculptures now the exhibition is over??
ReplyDeleteHappy travels!!
Red Nomad OZ, some of these works will be sold and appear again elsewhere. I've seen a few past exhibits in building foyers and public spaces around the city. Also, some of these works will return to galleries or appear in other exhibitions. There is actually another annual Sculpture by the Sea in Cottesloe Beach in Perth.
