This fire engine is seen here departing from Mascot fire station, along Coward Street in the eastern suburb of Mascot. The fire station was designed by Spain, Cosh & Minnet in the Federation Free style and built in 1912. It was closed in 1945 but reopened in 1980 after the restructuring of the Sydney Fire District.
I'm glad they restored and reopened it Jim..it's great to see a building still being used all these years later for what it was actually designed for.
