Haven't really been in Sydney, just at the airport, but know I should. Hope that the rain comes in NSW so there wont be any fires as I read on the news in Norway. Have a great week.
We had a very hot day yesterday. It was 43 degrees celsius in Sydney and the hottest day in Australia on record. Too many bushfires right across the country.
Elizabeth Bay is gorgeous! The park coming to the very edge of the water, the path, the wall and the boats are all lovely to look at, green and cool.
Re the temperature and catastrophic bushfires. The Black Saturday bushfires that burned up Victoria on the 7th February 2009 and killed nearly 200 people took place in a day of 47c temperatures. So 43c is horrible, but nowhere near the maximum. Even 47c was not the hottest day in Australia on record.

True, but it was the hottest day on average, right across Australia. It's not usually so hot across the whole continent at the same time.
