The Rocks, sign

This sign and lamp indicates the main entry to the historic neighbourhood of Sydney, known as The Rocks. It is located along George Street, next to First Fleet Park, at West Circular Quay. The Rocks was the original settlement area after the First Fleet arrived in 1788. In the distance you can just make out the sails of the Sydney Opera House.

  3. Wow, what a nice sign and the ironwork is fancy. Reminds me of the old lamp posts in my hometown's plaza.

  4. I have visited the Rocks Jim. It is a fascinating area. If only the rocks could talk. What tales they would tell.
