"Girl Pointing" is a sculpture by Matt Calvert, which was located on the cliffs at Tamarama for Sculpture by the Sea, the annual outdoor sculpture exhibition on the coastal walk from Bondi. The girl is pointing out at the Pacific Ocean, past MacKenzie Bay, Tamarama Bay and Nelson Bay, with the eastern suburbs of Bronte and Clovelly in the background.
I miss Bondi walk! Maybe next year....

What an evocative piece. Nice!
ReplyDeleteDoes the sculpture remain in place, after the exhibition is over?
ReplyDeleteIf not, where do the sculptural figures go?
No, they are only ever displayed for about three weeks. Some of the prize winners are displayed in public areas like the Royal Botanic Gardens for a while. Most are available for sale and sometimes end up in building foyers or forecourts where they can be viewed by the public.
DeleteI have so enjoyed your captures of the sculptures lately, Jim!! Such a great exhibition!! Thanks for sharing!
