St Oswald's Anglican Church is located on the corner of Dickson Street and Dalhousie Street, in the inner west suburb of Haberfield. The original building was built in 1908 but was extended three times and it now mainly features elements of Inter-War revived Gothic architectural style.

ReplyDeleteAs Bill Nichols wrote, it looks as if the church could be in the U.K. - though many Episcopal (Anglican) parishes in the U.S. have similar architecture. It must be in the Anglican DNA! :-)
ReplyDelete«Louis» posted a church in the Victorian village of Ferndale, California.
my hometown Anglican church looked a lot like this, I find it so interesting how some the church architecture is so similar all around the world.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how they kept adding to churches in the old days. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how different the Gothic style looks in brick, rather than stone. Nice one!
ReplyDeleteThis Anglican Church was built in exactly the right year (1908) for my analysis of Haberfield as a garden city, Perfect!! Come to my blog tomorrow morning and see what you think of this cool part of Sydney. I will make a link to your post... many thanks
