Tamarama Beach, sign

Looking out on the Pacific Ocean from the beach in the eastern suburb of Tamarama. The beach is normally packed with swimmers and surfers on such a beautiful day as this but as the sign indicates, on this day the beach was closed due to dangerous rips in the surf.

  2. As John Irving said in The World According to Garp, "Watch out for the undertoad." Another great malapropism.

  3. The waters do look somewhat unpredictable. Love all the blues. Our weather is still cold, windy and grey on my Mornington Peninsula.

  4. The colours are beautiful and deep. I especially like how the lifeguard boats match the water!

    1. I'm used to seeing them in yellow or red on most Sydney beaches but they seem to use blue ones in this area.

  5. It is still nice to see something that looks warm!

  6. The temperature here is -14°C. The sign would not discourage me from just sitting on that lovely stretch of beach.

    1. It's hard for me to imagine that since it hardly ever gets lower than 0°C in Sydney in the heart of winter.

  8. Rip tides in the Pacific cannot be ignored! Glad for the warning sign.
