Circular Quay, ferries

These two Rivercat Class ferries are moored at the Circular Quay ferry wharves on Sydney Harbour, with Sydney Harbour Bridge as a backdrop. The Betty Cuthbert acquired in 1992 and the Marjorie Jackson acquired in 1993 are part of the fleet that cruises up the Parramatta River. They were named after Betty Cuthbert and Marjorie Jackson, Australian athletes and Olympic gold medallists.

  3. I would live right ON the harbour edge, watching the ferries. Even if the land was so expensive that I had to live in a tent for the rest of my life.

  8. Great shot, Jim. Sorry I haven't been around much, but I am doing about three jobs at once at the moment and trying desperately to keep up with my blog posts as well. Hope to have a quieter time next month...

  10. I love bridges and ferries. I grew up on a lane called Ferry Road. My grandfather ran a ferry across a canal. Later, it was replaced by a large pontoon bridge. Nice photo. I have been been south of the Equator. Maybe one day.

  11. Great composition. Those ferries are very low slung and sleek looking, for ferries I mean.
