This is part of a mural on the side of a shop on the corner of King Street and Rochford Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. The artwork was created by Peque and dedicated to his crew of mural artists. This wall has featured a number of artworks by this artist over the years which can be seen here and here.
Cool he made it very well, I love those details, the wooden textures on the boat, glowing shadows and ripples.
ReplyDeleteGood find Jim, even got the artists detail!

ReplyDeleteHi Jim,
ReplyDeleteThe artist's work has a graffiti-look about it. I wonder if he used to "tag" things. Thanks for sharing today.
Have a Happy Blue Monday!
A lot to see here!
ReplyDeleteWonderful artistry and I like the expressions on the pirates' faces, very comical.
ReplyDeleteGreat mural, very good painting skills, the pirates are very expressive.
ReplyDeleteStreet art always grabs my attention, especially when there's plenty of blue in it!

I'm guessing these are portraits of himself and his crew. They look a little unsure of their captain, but they definitely are on an adventure. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
