The Norfolk is a pub built in the art deco architectural style, located on the corner of Cleveland Street and Milton Street, in the inner city suburb of Redfern.
"Inner city suburbs" almost sounds like a contradiction in terms, doesn't it? I am constantly amazed that you (and Sydney) haven't run out of inspirational places yet. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing. Kay An Unfittie's Guide to Adventurous Travel
Thanks, Kay. I'll keep searching for interesting buildings and places. The suburbs closest to the central business district are the ones we call inner city suburbs.
What a great building. I'm so glad they've kept it around. Wonder if it has always been a pub or restaurant. It looks like some of our old movie theaters.
I like its architectural style.
ReplyDeleteI like it and it interesting how it has such nice shady overhangs to keep things cooler, Jim!
ReplyDeleteRedPat, awnings like this are a standard feature of most commercial buildings in Australia.

ReplyDeleteI can go for some crabs right now.
