All Souls Anglican Church is located on the corner of Norton Street and Marion Streets, in the inner west suburb of Leichhardt. This heritage listed church was designed by Blackett and Sons and was constructed in 1883 in the Victorian Academic Gothic style. The corner tower and spire were later additions, completed in 1962 by architect Lindsay R Little.

I like the gothic arches, and the severe spire
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely church. I enjoy going to the linked site to learn more about your photos.
ReplyDeleteI love how the front is so narrow, yet from the front probably seems to be much more substantial. It's a beautiful building.
ReplyDeleteLisa, that's actually the back. The front entrance is actually arond the other side, beside the spire. I'll have to get there early in the morning some day, so I can show it from that side.
DeleteThats a pointy one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice church Jim
ReplyDeleteNice! It looks very strong.
ReplyDeleteVictorian Academic Gothic? That’s a first for me. Stupid question: how many gothic styles are there?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea but they do seem to have many sub categories of architectural styles.
DeleteThanks for the shadow shot, Jim.

ReplyDeleteThe corner tower and spire were completed in 1962.
