This church hall stands beside Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church located along Kings Street, in the inner city suburb of Newtown. The heritage listed building was built in 1862 in the Victorian Academic style. An additional floor was added in 1998 for the Greek Welfare Centre, which provides social services for the local community.

ReplyDeleteIts a big house with nice coloring.
ReplyDeleteIt looks welcoming.
ReplyDeleteNice. Glad they are providing services to the local community.
ReplyDeleteI feel like an idiot, but I never would've guessed that this is Victorian style; what are the features that make this Victorian?
ReplyDeleteThe heritage listing references the ionic columns and pediment framing the entrance. There is a Victorian palisade fence, with stone coping and iron railings, along the street frontage.
DeleteShadows everywhere! Thanks, Jim.
