Fairfield, railway station

The entrance to Fairfield railway station from The Crescent, in the western suburb of Fairfield. This heritage listed railway station was opened in 1856 as part of the Main South line from Granville to Liverpool. Today it is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington line and T5 Cumberland line services. The jib crane in the forecourt commemorates the former goods yard which was north of station, accessed by a single track adjacent to where the crane is now.

  1. I like the jib crane ... had to look that phrase up for a definition but your photo helped a lot.
