Cronulla, Wanda Beach, sunrise

The sunrise provided a bit of colour in the gap on the horizon for an otherwise overcast sky above Bate Bay last Saturday morning. I discovered this magnificent wooden bench in the shape of a surfboard installed at the lookout behind Wanda Beach, close to the Green Hills sand dunes. It's a perfect surf culture design for the great surf beaches here, in the southern suburb of Cronulla. Another view can be seen here.

  35. These are lovely. Gosh you must have been up early! I love the surfboard bench. I've seen a few surfboard benches around Caloundra beach (an area on the Sunshine Coast in Qld) but they're made of metal. So in the middle of summer they're not too pleasant to sit on. Ouch!
