Redleaf Pool is an enclosed swimming area on Sydney Harbour, in the eastern suburb of Double Bay. There are two pontoons floating in the middle of the pool that are a perfect spot for swimmers to rest and enjoy the sun. Last weekend we had above average Autumn temperatures in Sydney, so the pool attracted quite a few swimmers but not quite the crowd it can usually attract in Summer. The kiosk and cafe behind the sandy beach provide glorious views over Blackburn Cove, Point Piper and Sydney Harbour. The pool is named after the Redleaf estate, which was owned by William Busby, a pastoralist and politician in the 1800s.
Looks wonderful. I would love to spend couple of hours like those guys on the barge.
ReplyDeleteI need vacation too! The view look beautiful and relaxing moment is the key.

You sure have a long season for swimming in Sidney!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! What a wonderful looking place! I could use a vacation to a place like that! Terrific captures, as always! Have a great week!

There won't be too many people swimming there today, I think.
ReplyDeleteYes Bill, we've certainly had a change of weather since last weekend.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate to see the season end? I just love the mood that these times create...so carefree and happy...
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Can't sharks get through there?
ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful sight. The words of you made me read it twice, being reminded that there's autumn down under, while people over here are getting ready for summer. Still working seven days a week, this surely looked alluring. Please have a wonderful Tuesday.

p.s.: Thanking you so very much for the link.
Jossie, the pool enclosure has bars to keep the sharks out. You can probably have a closer look in the shot I posted yesterday from the boardwalk above the bars, with views towards Point Piper.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so needing a vacation!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me :(

Ooo ... AND it has a coffee shop. Tick!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great place for a swim. After our winter and cold, snowy spring I'm ready to move there!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a wonderful place to swim and relax.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely little place to go for a dip!
ReplyDeleteplace to chill!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, very scenic.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to be. wonderful and great shots
ReplyDeleteHi J Bar,
ReplyDeletequeste tue foto di Sydney sono veramente molto belle.
Grazie della visita :-)
Nice warm looking shots. I bet there wasn't anyone there today. (A very cold Brisbanite)
ReplyDeleteNice spot for a dip. I saw a TV show (Greatest Cities of the World - Griff Rhys Jones) and was amazed to read that there are around 300 sea water pools around Sydney. Must start saving and come see your beautiful city for myself.
ReplyDeleteI need vacation right now!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures put me in the BEST of moods!!
Love all of them :)

Life in Australia sure looks good and the winters aren't bad either.
ReplyDeleteThank you for mentioning the Everyday life atw page. I joined!
ReplyDeleteOh, so refreshing! Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love the raft -- and I want to swim out to it. But I did read somewhere else that it is actually kind of cold there right now?
ReplyDeleteA very nice place to hang out, that's for sure. I'd love to live near the area. Such a pretty place.
ReplyDeleteWonderful place and nice beaches. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletea swim sounds great :)
ReplyDeleteSallie, that is true. We suddenly had a drop in the temperature this week and it's been raining every day. We're having a dose of Autumn reality.
ReplyDeleteThe cafe has been sited nicely off the beach and doesn't jar on the landscape. And it provides excellent views over the harbour!!! Perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy dopey computer won't bring up Wednesday's post, and it looks good too. It's been doing a bit of that lately. Death to all computers! Aw well, perhaps to-morrow.
ReplyDeleteBruce, my post for Wednesday is the beach that sits alongside this pool. I hope you will get a chance to see it.
ReplyDeleteJim, it's the Court House I can't see, maybe to-morrow. This sort of thing is not unusual for my machine.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place! I love to visit there one day with the kids. Great captures.
