Circular Quay, flash mob

This flash mob performed outside the Museum of Contemporary Art, at Circular Quay on Friday. A flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse, for the purpose of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression. These teenage girls were performing a medley of songs by British boy band One Direction. I happened to be walking past as they gathered and they were all gone within minutes.

  1. It's the first time that I have heard the term "flash mob"! One Direction is becoming a "disease", especially with teenage girls! But what an interesting scene they create complete with pools of shadows!

  3. Wow, that's a big flashmob. Circular Quay is always full of life and movement.
Funny how the people passing by didn't even turn their head to look. Are they hurrying to get on a cruise ship?

  15. A little spontaneous entertainment is nice. Here flash mobs descend on a store grab stuff and run.
