Circular Quay, ferry

This ferry has just departed from the Circular Quay ferry wharves, in front of the Circular Quay railway station. The Friendship is a First Fleet Class ferry acquired in 1986 that is part of the fleet that operates on the Inner Harbour routes. It was named Friendship, after the one of eleven ships of the First Fleet that sailed to Australia in 1787.

  2. When I first met my then-boyfriend, later-husband in 1969, the first thing he took me on in Sydney were the ferries. I had never seen anything like it before in Melbourne or around Port Phillip Bay. Of course I married him :)

    1. Ann, they are part of the public transport network. In Sydney we have buses, ferries, trains and one tram line soon to be expanded.
