The Old Geology Building is on the University of Sydney campus, in the inner city suburb of Camperdown. It was designed by Walter Liberty Vernon and built in 1895 but was altered by Professor Leslie Wilkinson in 1920. It is located near the Parramatta Road footbridge entrance and opposite the Footbridge Theatre.
It stands out beautifully!

ReplyDeleteIt's a fine looking building!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see this slapped with a fresh coat of paint, preferrably yellow.
ReplyDeleteMy SIGNS, SIGNS
It is quite yellow. Probably looks lighter with the sun shining directly on it.

Walter Liberty Vernon was terrific.
ReplyDeleteAnd prolific.
He played an important role in early Canberra as well.
Looks like this fine, old academic building is still in use. That's great.
ReplyDeleteVery handsome building .., but the name Footbridge Theatre for the nearby building you mention is intriguing me. Sounds like it would be a great place to see a play.
ReplyDeleteNice looking building and well captured.
