Dolls Point, Lady Robinsons Beach, Botany Bay
These remnants of Dolls Point tidal bath and wharf with the nets removed after shifting sands silted it up are at Lady Robinsons Beach on the shore of Botany Bay in the southern suburb of Dolls Point. The Norfolk Island Pine tree, which is native to Norfolk Island, stands on the edge of Cook Park.

Chinatown, The Pentatonic Rooster
The Pentatonic Rooster is a sculpture installed along the Dixon Street pedestrian mall in Chinatown, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. It is inspired by traditional Chinese instruments and the five-note pentatonic musical scale. The body is a gong, the head is a cymbal, the wattle a bell, the beak and legs are flutes, the feet are piccolos and panpipes form the comb. It was created by artist Tianli Zu for the Lunar New Year Festival, who also collaborated with her composer son Andrew Zhou to compose music for this artwork. In the Chinese zodiac, every year is symbolised by an animal and this year is the Year of the Rooster.

First Fleet Park, Lunar Lanterns, Monkey
Lunar Lanterns have been installed around Circular Quay to celebrate the Chinese New Year Festival. In the Chinese zodiac, every year is symbolised by an animal and this year is the Year of the Rooster. These Monkey lanterns are located in First Fleet Park, posing as the three wise monkeys who see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil, looking towards the pencil, which is mightier than the sword. These five metre tall lanterns were created by Laurens Tan and last year were part of a larger display at the Opera House, perched on top of a gigantic pencil. The Zodiac symbol of the Monkey can be characterised as quick-witted, charming and lucky. The adaptable Monkey livens up an occasion.

Circular Quay, Lunar Lanterns, Sheep
Lunar Lanterns have been installed around Circular Quay to celebrate the Chinese New Year Festival. In the Chinese zodiac, every year is symbolised by an animal and this year is the Year of the Rooster. Many of the lanterns were seen around the city last year but some them have been changed this year. The Sheep lantern has been installed along the foreshore of Sydney Harbour at East Circular Quay. The Norwegian Star cruise ship can be seen in the background at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, near the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was originally designed by Raymond Leung, with current design by Alexandra Sommer and Brad Clark. The Zodiac symbol of the Sheep can be characterised as tasteful, warm and intuitive. The sensitive Sheep offers a quiet life of creativity and compassion.

Lunar Lanterns have been installed around Circular Quay to celebrate the Chinese New Year Festival. In the Chinese zodiac, every year is symbolised by an animal and this year is the Year of the Rooster. The forecourt of the Sydney Opera House features these lanterns of two roosters engaged in a dancing fight, symbolising their strength and courage in opposing the adversity of the coming year. These eight metre tall sculptures with vibrant colours featured throughout their feathers were created by amigo and amigo, co-founded by Simone Chua and Renzo B. Larriviere. The Zodiac symbol of the Rooster is honest, energetic and intelligent. The flamboyant Rooster is confident and is not afraid of hard work.

Centennial Park, Woollahra Reservoir, mural
Woollahra Reservoir is located along Oxford Street, in the eastern suburb of Centennial Park. After being repeatedly hit by graffiti vandals, the walls of the reservoir were painted with murals in 2015 by street artist Mike Watt. They feature images of foliage found in Centennial Park.

This former industrial building is located on the corner of Roachford Street and Knight Street, in the inner city suburb of Erskineville. It is home to Commune Studios, a co-working space for creative industry freelancers, small businesses and entrepreneurs. It is a collective of creatives from many fields – design, photography, film, journalism, public relations, events – all working under one roof. Martin Place, Colonial State Bank
The Colonial State Bank building is located along Martin Place between Elizabeth Street and Phillip Street. It was built in 1986 in the post modern architectural style as the headquarters of the NSW State Bank, later taken over by Colonial in 1996 to form the Colonial State Bank, until itself was taken over in 2000 by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. This 36-storey tower sits on a 2-storey atrium with the former banking chamber now containing the Sydney newsdesk of the Seven Network's Sydney-based Seven News. The top of the Capita Centre in nearby Castlereagh Street can be seen in the reflection.

Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church is located along Shaw Street in the southern suburb of Kingsgrove. Designed by architects Maclurcan and Brown and built in 1970, it was the first church in Australia, and one of the first in the world, to have a central altar.

Australian National Maritime Museum, sculpture
"Johnnie and Mehmet", is a kinetic and aural sculpture located at the Australian National Maritime Museum created in 2016 by Alexander Knox. It commemorates World War I, when Australia’s only remaining submarine, HMAS AE2, made a daring and hazardous incursion into the Dardanelles and the Sea of Marmara, playing a game of cat and mouse with the Ottoman torpedo boat Sultanhisar. The sculpture represents sailors from AE2 and Sultanhisar, Johnnie and Mehmet, who perform a visual ceremony, signalling to each other in semaphore-like movements derived from maritime languages, punctuated by sounds from the maritime world. The former enemies meet again today at the museum in the context of the friendship between Australia and Turkey.

Erskineville, town hall
Erskineville Town Hall and Council Chambers is located along Erskineville Road, in the inner city suburb of Erskineville. It was designed by Lindsay Scott and built in 1938 in the Inter-War Mediterranean architectural style. As Macdonaldtown Municipality, it was originally incorporated in 1872 but in 1894 part of Macdonaltown became a new suburb known as Erskineville. Small, inner city municipalities were amalgamated in 1949, and Erskineville became part of the City of Sydney. It is now used as a community hall.

Circular Quay, Sydney skyline
A view of Circular Quay from the Overseas Passenger Terminal, as a ferry and cruiser are just departing from the wharves of the Circular Quay ferry terminal. Circular Quay railway station sits behind with the elevated Cahill Expressway above it, rising to the Sydney city skyline. This shot is from a few years ago, so there have been some additions to the skyline since then.

Broadway, Grace Brothers department store
These clock towers rise above the corners of the flagship buildings of the former Grace Brothers department store along Broadway. The original five storey building on the left was built in 1904 inthe Federation/Edwardian architectural style and stands in Glebe, while the matching building on the right was completed in 1923 and stands in Ultimo. In 1998, these buildings were restored and redeveloped. The 1904 building became part of The Broadway Shopping Centre, a shopping mall with retail space, cinemas, restaurants and car park. The 1923 building is now UniLodge, student accommodation for the nearby University of Sydney.
