Sydney Olympic Park, Sports Halls

 A view of one of the Sports Halls from the corner of Olympic Boulevarde and New England Avenue, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. The complex was built for 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and is used to host events in Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Handball and Futsal or Indoor Soccer. It is also a Sydney Showground venue for the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Sydney Olympic Park, Southee Complex

  The Southee Complex is located on the corner of Showground Road and Grand Parade, in the western suburb of Sydney Olympic Park. The complex houses Exhibition Halls 5 & 6 of the Sydney Showgrounds, a purpose built venue for the annual Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Eveleigh, artwork

This temporary artwork was located on the hoardings of Axle, a new office and retail development on the corner of Locomotive Street and Mitchell Way, in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh. 'Chaorder' was created by Beth Radford as part of a display of emerging artists selected to feature in the 'REFLECTION' series a South Eveleigh. This artwork explores patterns, progression, symmetry and sequence with its counterpart chaos, unpredictability, and the incalculable interactions found in the natural world. The hoardings have now been removed to reveal cafes, restaurants and shops.

North Strathfield, railway station

 

North Strathfield railway station was built in 1918 and is located in the western suburb of North Strathfield. It is the first station on the Main Northern line after it branches from the Main Suburban line at Strathfield and is served by Sydney Trains T9 Northern Line services. The concourse and stairs were upgraded in recent years when the lifts were installed.

Lakemba, railway station

Looking across the platforms of Lakemba railway station, in the south western suburb of Lakemba. The station opened in 1909 when line from Sydenham to Belmore was extended to Bankstown. Today the station is served by Sydney Trains T3 Bankstown line services. The original wooden ticket office along the concourse was heavily damaged by fire and replaced by this modern metal and glass structure in 2001.

Waterloo, mural

This mural is on the side of a commercial building on the corner of Chapel Lane and Botany Road, in the inner city suburb of Waterloo. The Kid Laroi is an Australian musician who grew up in this area and has had international success with his music. This mural was created in 2020 by visual artist Scott Marsh.

Mascot, Beckenham Uniting Church

The former Beckenham Uniting Church is located on the corner of Botany Road and Wentworth Avenue, in the eastern suburb of Mascot. The heritage listed church was designed by ecclesiastical architect Arthur Layton-Clark in an Interwar Gothic style and built in 1933 as the Beckenham Memorial Congregational Church, The property was resumed by the State Government of New South Wales in 2015 and the adjacent church hall was demolished for road widening. A small landscaped area called Dr Darragh Reserve was created between the road and the church, which will be repurposed now.

 These sculptures are located at Walsh Bay wharves, between Dawes Point and Millers Point. They are part of the 2021 Walsh Bay Sculpture Walk, run by ArtPark Australia, which is exhibiting contemporary landmark sculpture in public spaces around Australia.

Dawes Point, warehouse, staircase

Pier 3 is located along Hickson Road on Walsh Bay, in the inner city suburb of Dawes PointIt was once part of Sydney's port facilities and this external staircase is attached to the redeveloped warehouse building. The Walsh Bay wharves have been converted into theatres, offices, hotels, apartments, restaurants, cafes and shops.

Dawes Point, Pier One

Pier One is located along Hickson Road overlooking Walsh Bay, in the inner city suburb of Dawes Point. It was once part of Sydney's port facilities and this bridge linked the warehouse building to the ships that moored here. It is now used as a balcony for the Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel in the redeveloped warehouse building. The little igloo-like structure has been installed to allow guests to enjoy the sights of Sydney Harbour during in winter.

Banksia, St Savvas of Kalymnos Orthodox Church

 St Savvas of Kalymnos Orthodox Church is located along the Princes Highway, in the southern suburb of Banksia. This church building was formerly used by the Banksia Free Church. It became an Orthodox Church in 2016 and features a reproduction of an icon of the saint on the windows.
