Darling Quarter, Taronga Wild! Rhinos

The hunt for painted rhino sculptures installed around Sydney continues. "Taronga Wild! Rhinos" is a public art exhibition to raise awareness and funds for Taronga Zoo’s Black Rhino breeding program and conservation projects. This rhino is located outside the shops at Darling Quarter. "Unicorn Horn" was created by Lara Porter who imagined if the rhino were to become extinct, its horn might become mythical like that of the unicorns, to future generations.

  1. In many places I have visited, their city has an animal. Ours is a cow, north of here is a moose, and south is a bear. Yours is wonderful!

  9. This is such a brilliant idea to bring focus to the worrying plight of the rhino.
Let's hope they never become mythical like that of the unicorns.
On a less serious side...a fantastic photo which makes you smile ;D

  14. The sculpture captures the strength of the rhino, and I like the expression of confidence on his face. The colors make him kind of a My Little Pony rhino, children must like this one. I hope they are successful in their conservation efforts.
