A clash of heritage and contemporary architecture at the intersection of Napoleon Street with Sussex Street and Hickson Road. The sandstone and iron fence runs along Sussex Street. The stairs and glass lift lead up to a new footbridge over the road which link to the new developments at Barangaroo. Westpac Place is the skyscraper in the distance with the weather beacon barometer on the roof inside an illuminated white glass tower. The clearway sign indicates that parking is not allowed along the street for a special event this Sunday and parked cars will be towed away.

Quite a contrast.
ReplyDeleteA big clash of styles.
ReplyDelete...the W sure stands out.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed. The logo for Westpac.
DeleteInteresting sign in your cityscape photo.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot going on in that streetscape. We have a weather beacon on a building downtown here but it is quite old compared to that one but is one of the most beloved features of the area.
ReplyDeleteYou have me intrigued. I'd love to see that.
DeleteA nice mix of the old and the new.
ReplyDeleteLovely street shot Jim.
ReplyDeleteFantastic city
