Firstly, good luck with your return to work today. Three months on sick leave must have seemed interminable!
Now, I am often in and around this square, due to the library, but I have not seen this fence. Wll open my eyes next time! So, was this made new, or did they retrieve it from one of the many 'previous lives' of this square? Your question for the day ...
Thanks for your well wishes, Julie. I had thought that this would most likely have been a new fence but now you've got me thinking. It's quite possible that this was retained and recycled from an old fence here.
I've walked past that fence many times but never really looked at it. You're back at work? Good luck. Will be a bit of a shock to the system after so long.
Looks like a great place to linger and the ornate fence reminds me of New Orleans. But that city doesn't have the clean, crisp colors you've captured here!
What an amazing and intricately made iron fence. It is gorgeous. What a beautiful piece of history in your city. The capture itself is stunning. Such nice photography. genie
wow I didnt even notice that fence when I lived in Sydney. You can get some awesome fence in Sydney unlike Canberra where I am having a hard time finding them. Eastern Suburbs will give you lots of nice fences Bridget #12
Beautiful site. Thanks for the visit!

ReplyDeleteThis is so funny, your post is dated Nov. 1st and I have slightly over 2 hrs. before it's Nov. 1st in the USA!!!
Love your photo, I wish it was summer here! We had an awful Nor'Easter this past weekend and schools have been closed!
Stop by again when you have a moment, I love company and new friends are always welcome!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann. Yes it has been a little difficult. I've forgotten so much already and there have been so many changes in only three months.
ReplyDeleteFabulous fence, Jim!

Hope you are having a nice and happy week****
I remember seeing this on one of my trips down there. An unusual place for an iron fence.
ReplyDeleteWonderful and inviting despite the fence :)
ReplyDeleteMy kind of place! Great!
ReplyDeleteFences are so much more attractive if there is a bar behind ...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you were off sick, and wish you well as you get back to work. (I've been rather remiss in visiting blogs over the last few months.)
Thanks, paul. Always great when there's a bar in close proximity to anything, I guess. :)
