This building is located on the corner of Ramsay Street and Dalhousie Street in the inner west suburb of Haberfield. The suburb has many houses and shops built in the Federation style of architecture. This building originally featured a number of shopfronts with residences above. It now houses the Dolcisimmo Italian Restaurant, a Pizzeria and a Cafe/Gelateria.
Again I love the architecture, but find the colour awful. Did pink become a heritage colour or something?
ReplyDeleteInteresting architecture and the building hums with life and activity!

Strange, at least for us, but fascinating!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks like and interesting foodie corner - the architecture is quite distinctive.
ReplyDeleteHels, interesting point. I wish they had restored the original brickwork rather than painted over it. It looks better on the two sections that weren't painted over.
ReplyDeleteFascinating roofline facade! Bold and fanciful! Lovely presence on the corner!
ReplyDeleteLove the architecture! Such a beautiful building! Great reflections for the day, Jim! Enjoy your weekend!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful building. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteI have not been to Haberfield which is a sad omission because I understand a lot of the suburb is heritage listed so would be interesting.
ReplyDeleteInteresting architecture above and a good place to eat below.
ReplyDeleteGreat place to sip a cup of coffee. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteEmille, this architecture is from the period around the Federation of Australia in 1901. The styles were similar to Edwardian architecture overseas with elements of Queen Ann or Shingle style architecture.
ReplyDeleteI like the roof line of this building against that beautiful sky!
ReplyDeleteRemarkably similar to shops along the strip in Mosman.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting architecture!
