These shops are located along Military Road, in the lower north shore suburb of Mosman. It has been declared a conservation area for this early twentieth century shopping strip. The shop and residence on the corner with the turret is an example of the Federation Queen Anne architectural style.
Lovely architecture...

What a lovely neighborhood. It's good that such places are preserved. So often they are allowed to decay, then are torn down.
ReplyDeleteWhat is now a flower shop used to be my favourite fish and chip shop.
ReplyDelete«Louis» likes to see historic areas such as this preserved. As Lois wrote, too often they are allowed to decay and then be torn down...

Have a nice and happy week****
I love this building. I love visiting areas that have been preserved. Old buildings are so much more interesting to me than the new ones, although some of them are quite impressive. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful buildings. I would enjoy exploring to see how they look on the insides. Thank you so much for sharing the looks of things that I shall never get to visit.
