Gold Fields House is a commercial office building at 1 Alfred Street, between Pitt Street and George Street, at Circular Quay. This 25 storey building was one of the city's earliest high rise office buildings, constructed in 1966. With spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, approval has been granted for it to be soon redeveloped into apartments. This view is from the walkway beside the Cahill Expressway.
Wow the views from these soon to be apartments would be spectacular, but as much as I adore the Bridge, I don't think I could live so high up..What about you Jim?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot...like the angle!
ReplyDeletePerthDailyPhoto, it would be a bit of a novelty at first but I don't think I could live in a high rise apartment permanently either.
ReplyDeleteHope it isn't altered too much. A bland building but historically very significant.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat apartment site!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeletepremium views will surely attract premium prices on this development
ReplyDeletethanks for the intersting fact share from the harbour city
The view would be lovely be the apartments when it is converted. 25 floors does not seem very high. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot, Jim! I, too, really like the angel! Terrific! Always love your blue, blue skies! I live five floors up, that's about as high as I want to be!!

That is a great shot.Personally I am an earthbound person!
ReplyDeleteOnce I dreamed about making a living as a window cleaner ...
ReplyDeleteImpressive picture indeed. Please have a good Friday.
Wow, save me an apartment there! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome building, good shot!
ReplyDeleteSWF
They would have a great view.
ReplyDeleteoh My God...great view of apartments.....wow....
ReplyDeleteI came here now, because I´m suspect of Parkinson´s disease and sometimes, I cant write anything.
Forgive me because you visited me and I couldn´t come here early.
great shot.
have a nice day
Grace, I'm so sorry to hear that. I appreciate your visit. :)
ReplyDeleteGood photo, ugly building! :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought the Quay apartments would have blocked its view?
ReplyDeleteBridget #13
La vue aux derniers étages doit y être magnifique !
ReplyDeleteBonne journée,
Pierre
It could be one of the tallest building way back then! Nice angle!
ReplyDeleteBridget Larsen, this building is very close to Circular Quay, just behind the railway station. Quay West Apartments are a bit further over in Gloucester Street.
ReplyDeleteI think the buildings built from the gold fields in Victoria are more pleasant than this.
ReplyDeleteHowever as for living in high rise ... if I have to live in the city I love it especially when there is a great view.
Great shot... love the angle...
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday you'll be able to show us the view from the inside!
Awesome building...get shot! Thanks for playing FF
ReplyDeleteHope the new apartments will give the area a fresh look.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat. Would be wonderful to see a photo of the view over the harbour from above there, I think.
ReplyDeleteThis is NOT just another picture of a tall building. It is an awesome one and SO appealing to me. Love the perspective. It looks like it is reaching for the stars...and the lines are great. This is one I really like. genie
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if you had to lie on your back on the ground to get that building shot? :-) Kind of made me dizzy as scrolled down. Thrilling photography!
ReplyDeleteFaye, I didn't have yo lie on yje ground but I did get a bit dizzy looking straight up like that for a while. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVisiting late from Skywatch, hope you can take a peek at my skywatch entry also. Thanks. Have a great weekend.
The fence almost disappears in front of such a huge building. Great shot!
