Randwick, Glanmire

'Glanmire is located along Alison Road, in the eastern suburb of Randwick. This was built in 1896 in the Victorian Boom architectural style. It is one of a pair and with 'Seabird' built in 1893, are now part of Marcellin College, a private high school.

  2. This place has an interesting mix of decoration, kind of like the architects were buying at a yard sale.

  3. My husband, an old Sydney lad, went to Sydney Boys High and Sydney University. This is his part of the world :). I too love the Victorian architecture.

  7. I have been looking at your blog for awhile now and love the photos that you post. I was wondering how you get shots which don't seem to have lots of peripheral things eg people in them. Do you have a specific time of day when you take your photos or are you very patient and wait for that right moment? I am only just starting out on doing a blog so any advice would be welcome.

    1. Kim, I purposely take the photos when there aren't many people around. I have to be very patient and do wait around for quite a while for the right moment. The day and time of day makes a difference. Some places are quiet on weekdays and others on weekends. Some are quiet early in the morning and others in the afternoon. Sometimes it takes a few visits to work out the best time.
