The Zetland Hotel is located on the corner of Bourke Street and Elizabeth Street, in the inner city suburb of Zetland. The original three story hotel in the Victorian architectural style was built in 1890. It was reduced to two storeys and altered to an art deco style in 1936. It has also been previously known as the Green Square Hotel.
cool pub
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, beautiful, I love art deco!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Now I wonder why the top level was taken off.
ReplyDeleteI was quite surprised to learn that.
DeleteI love Art Deco for pubs - it was a style perfectly suited to the notions of pleasure and glamour. And this Deco pub has an exterior that has been well looked after.
ReplyDeleteThat is a place I'd like to visit one day!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
Nice looking building shame it was reduced in hight, Does it sell beer through.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does sell beer. :)

ReplyDeleteBlue Lady of the Monsoons
The art deco makes the building look classier. I don't know what to expect from Australian hotels, interesting.
