Barangaroo, pontoon
This view is from Wulugul Walk along the foreshore of Barangaroo Reserve, in the inner city suburb of Barangaroo. Looking past the pontoon, the view is towards Johnstons Bay between Pyrmont and Rozelle. The Anzac Bridge can be seen in the distance as well as a cruise ship moored at the White Bay Cruise Terminal.

Redfern, railway station
This entrance to Redfern railway station is along Gibbons Street in the inner city suburb of Redfern. The building in the background was built in 1979 and leads down to the underground platforms of the Illawarra line. The original 1874 entrance is along Lawson Street and can be seen here. The sign is now a heritage item since all railway signs in this blue and white style with the yellow train logo are currently being replaced by orange and white "T" signs for trains.

Chippendale, Sutherlands Hotel
Sutherlands Hotel, otherwise known as Bar Broadway, is located on the corner of Broadway and Regent Street in the inner city suburb of Chippendale. This heritage listed pub was built in 1939 in the Inter-War Functionalist architectural style.

Museum of Contemporary Art, Corde du Roi
This mural adorns the foyer of the Mordant Wing of the Museum of Contemporary Art. "Corde du Roi" was created by Stephen Bush in 2016 and conveys a sense of the awesome power of nature in relationship to the human figure, while also depicting humanity’s desire and capacity to tame the natural world.

The former St Mary’s Star of the Sea convent is located on the corner of Forest Raod and Croydon Road, in the southern suburb of Hurstville. It was built in 1886 and is now part of Bethany College, a Catholic girl's high school.

The Rocks, sculpture
This sculpture is on the wall of the Customs Officers Stairs at The Rocks. It is a war memorial created by Lyndon Dadswell, a lieutenant who created sculptures of his war time experience serving with the Australian infantry in the Middle East. The plaque below reads: In memory of the men of the 6th Australian division who sailed from these shores during World War 2 (1939-1945) to serve in North Africa, Greece, Syria, Ceylon and Papua New Guinea.

This sunset is viewed from Bonney Street Wharf, in the southern suburb of Sans Souci, looking out on Kogarah Bay. This vivid sunset was a result of the combination of smoke from hazard reduction burns around the city and clearing storm clouds.

North Sydney, Mount Street
This entrance to North Sydney railway station is located on the corner of Pacific Highway and Mount Street, in the north shore suburb of North Sydney. On weekdays this is a very busy commercial precinct but on a Sunday this entrance is locked and there aren't many people around. The heritage listed building in the foreground on the right is the former Bank of New South Wales built in 1931 in the Inter-War Free Classical architectural style.

Rozelle, Easton Park, mural
This is part of the mural on the amenities building in Easton Park, along Lilyfield Road in the inner west suburb of Rozelle. It was created by Sheo White in 2010 for the Wall to Wall Competition, which seeks to minimise graffiti in the local area whilst offering artists an opportunity to showcase their skills, style and creativity. The mural features various sports and leisure activities that can be experienced in the park. Other parts of the mural can be seen here and here.

Rockdale, St Petka Macedonian Orthodox Church
St Petka Macedonian Orthodox Church is located along Railway Parade, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. I've featured this church today because The Resurrection of Christ Macedonian Orthodox Church, also in this suburb, was destroyed by fire this week after Orthodox Easter celebrations. That congregation was formed when a dispute within the church resulted in a split.

Pyrmont, pole garden
A sunset view of the pylons of a former wharf which form a 'pole garden' beside Pirrama Park, in the inner west suburb of Pyrmont. The site was previously used for the water police headquarters. The White Bay Cruise Terminal can be seen in the distance across Johnstons Bay.

'The Questioning Column' is an artwork that adorns a column outside the front entrance of the Art Gallery of New South Wales in The Domain. It was created by Sheila Hicks out of acrylic fibres for the 20th Biennale of Sydney, Australia's largest contemporary arts festival.

Botanic Gardens, Morshead Fountain
Morshead Fountain sits outside the Morehead Fountain Gate entrance to the Royal Botanic Gardens. The fountain was erected in 1966 in memory of Lieutenant-General Sir Lesley Morshead and the men who served with him. Morshead was knighted for his defence of Tobruk in World War II.

Surry Hills, warehouse
This former warehouse is located along Foster Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. This heritage listed building was used by Edwards and Co, a prominent 19th century Australian tea merchant. It has now been converted into a residential apartment building.

Brighton-Le-Sands, First Fleet Bicentennial Monument
The First Fleet Bicentennial Monument stands in Cook Park, on the foreshore of Botany Bay, in the southern suburb of Brighton-Le-Sands. It was sculpted in bronze by Victor Cusack in 1988 to commemorate the arrival of the First Fleet in Botany Bay in 1788 and the first Europeans settlers in Australia. The names of all those new arrivals are engraved on this monument flanked by a couple of old cannons. There were originally four cannons located here in 1900 from the navy vessel HMS Wolverine, built in 1863 and flagship of the Australian Squadron 1876-1881. One of those cannons now stands outside the Rockdale City Council administration building and another cannon is south along the bay at Sans Souci.

Anzac War Memorial
The western side of the Anzac War Memorial, which stands in Hyde Park South. The building was designed by Bruce Dellit in the Art Deco architectural style and completed in 1934. The sculptures and bas reliefs that adorn the building were created by Rayner Hoff, who also created the powerful "Sacrifice" sculpture inside. It was built as a memorial to the Australian Imperial Force of World War I and is the focus of commemoration ceremonies Anzac Day, 25th April, which marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the war.

Ultimo, University of Technology Sydney, Dr Chau Chak Wing Building
The Dr Chau Chak Wing Building is a Business School building on the campus of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), along Ultimo Road in the inner city suburb of Ultimo. The 12-storey tower is the first building in Australia designed by Canadian American architect Frank Gehry and built in 2014.

Balmain, London Hotel
The London Hotel is located on the corner of Darling Street and Jane Street, in the inner west suburb of Balmain. This stone building was built in 1859 and converted into a hotel in 1869. It has previously been known as Golden Eagle Hotel, Circular Saw Hotel and London Tavern.
